This year marks 30 years since Asmodee first entered the market, what started as Asmoddée Éditions in Guyancourt, France has grown into a powerhouse within the board game industry across the globe.
Founded by Marc Nuné, Asmodee started as a game publisher and distributor with the goal to streamline and professionalise the distribution chain in France with eyes set on European audiences.
With early successes such as ‘Jungle Speed’, Asmodee entered the millenia publishing their own games, whilst acquiring other publishers.
This past week at the UK Games Expo, a new yet familiar face was in attendance. Asmodee had unofficially launched their ‘Inspired by Players’ rebrand, in a move that puts the players first.
Asmodee CEO, Thomas Kœgler spoke of the reband saying, “At Asmodee, we have made it our mission to create meaningful, shared experiences through our games to celebrate all players. During our 30-year journey in the tabletop games industry, our brand hasn’t always been visible to players themselves. With this brand evolution, we aim to change that – making Asmodee a name that’s recognised, trusted, loved, and sought out by players around the world.”
The rebrand was carried out in collaboration with Carré Noir, a design agency within the Publicis Groupe. Carré Noir Chief Creative Officer noted, “As a board game and role-playing enthusiast, I know the vast selection of games can feel overwhelming. By collaborating with Asmodee on their new brand identity, we helped them boldly express their passion for gaming while giving players a strong and recognisable brand they can trust. This new identity will help customers navigate a competitive market and position Asmodee as a clear point of reference.”

Asmodee own and distributes some of the biggest names in modern tabletop gaming including, Catan, Ticket to Ride, 7 Wonders, Pandemic, Dobble as well as franchise games such as Star Wars: Rebellion, The Lord of the Rings: Journeys in Middle-Earth and the much anticipated Lord of the Ring: Fate of the Fellowship.
